What began as little more than a field-recording over a year ago has slowly decayed and transformed into a larger sum of parts...

Parts from Colorado (Meredith Wilder)

Parts from Arizona (Golden Boots)

And further parts as well as the degradation of said parts from New Mexico (yours truly, GRAL)

This song served as yet another bridge between worlds during the last year. A chance for folks to unite creatively even while our creative reserves were depleted and while the most unifying concept was uncertainty mixed with fear.

The summer's hot, the air is dry. It's the perfect time for this song to leave it's digital cocoon and enter the world somewhat non-algorhythmically (is that even possible though? Can we agree that's even a word?)

Maybe instead of 'like, comment, share' we try and adopt a momentary 'listen, feel' approach, at least to honor our friends that helped make this sonic collage. A sort of semi-tangible empathy is music made remotely during a pandemic. A comradery of tinkerers...

'This is the best of all possible worlds'

'Always at the edge of mystery, surrounded by it. Surrounded by it'

'Those last few steps to the mountain pass, beyond there is a different country'

-excerpts of J. Robert Oppenheimer-

released July 16, 2021
Meredith Wilder: Vocals (J. Robert Oppenheimer excerpts)
Golden Boots: Cosmic Desert
